Updated – “Mystery” Jet Parked At Paulding Aiport

At this morning’s Airport Authority meeting, a question was asked about a Gulfstream Jet parked outside. Even a few board members asked about it but Blake Swafford (Executive Director) said he couldn’t discuss anything about the jet.  However, there is plenty about this “mystery” jet available to the public on-line.  It appears, via an FAA search, we had a former Nigerian Government-owned aircraft flying over Paulding County which currently has an “unknown” registration, an “unknown” owner, and an “unknown” airworthiness status. My guess is that it is on it’s way to SAVANNAH where it will sit until it is sold. Not sure why Blake Swafford insisted on being so secret about something that is publicly available.  The picture at the top of the article is from one of the links and is the most recent I could find.

**** UPDATED 9/22 – I’ve received information that the aircraft is still registered in Nigeria and has a “special permit” to fly.  I’m in the process of trying to get a copy of that permit.  Also, the aircraft is scheduled to fly out of Paulding into Lawrenceville later this week. ****
