Paulding County Commissioner Tommie Graham Mocks and Insults the Taxpayers

The second half of this video speaks for itself. It was recorded on Monday, June 27th 2011 with mostly county employees present. The public hearing on the pending budget was scheduled for the following day. Mr. Graham (POST III COMMISSIONER) was obviously upset that he couldn’t find anyone to push for a mill-rate increase. Hat tip to the Dallas-Hiram Patch for recording the meeting. The annotations on the video were added by yours truly. Enjoy!

How much money can the county save if he just resigns and the post is left vacant?

This is exactly the problem we have in Paulding County. People are elected who have no idea how to run our government correctly because they’re related to somebody. The “good ol’ boy” politics. Frankly, I’m fed up. I think he needs to go!

We could save a lot of money if we just put the county employees to work like everyone else and jettison the rest – at least according to Mr. Graham’s numbers.

I believe Mr. Graham has provided a prime example of why this gang is not fit to govern this county. Seven days is a 5% pay cut? That means the average county employee would only work 140 days a year, about 23 of what a typical worker does. If Mr. Graham is correct we could just lay-off about 1/3 of the county employees and have the rest work the typical work schedule!

However, I am actually of the opinion that Mr. Graham is completely wrong about the numbers. But what else do you expect from a group that has know for well over a year that tough decisions needed to be made and all they can come up with is a tax increase.

I guess they Gotta keep the cousins, brothers, spouses, in-laws, and such drawing a paycheck though.
